Moai Defeat is about the death of public monuments, many of which often deify leadership and its cultural, legal and social power. This work, made from custom Colonial interior molding, also alludes to the decline of Western Colonialism, as well as the corresponding end of indigenous populations, like the Rapa Nui people of Easter Island, that resulted from colonial invasion.
