Then and Again: The Perennial Present and Deep Reflection of Ken Lum

About Ken Lum
Lum’s work has been widely exhibited since the early 1980s in such venues as the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Witte de With Museum and the Kunsthalle Wien, among others. His work was featured in the 2014 Whitney Biennial and the 2002 Documenta 11, as well as the 1995 and 2001 Venice Biennales. Lum’s art is in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo De Huarte, Le Frac Ile-de-France, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Elaine Cohen Collection in New York City.
A seasoned professor, Lum currently acts as Chair of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design in Philadelphia. He holds an honorary doctorate degree from Simon Fraser University. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Pew Fellowship and is a Penn Institute of Urban Research Fellow. In late 2017, Lum was prestigiously appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
